The Kitten thinks the things that make noise in hula hoops are roly-polies. She gets mad when I call them doodlebugs. I never knew their real name until I looked them up today.

They are totally “rolie-polies”. “Doodlebugs” is mildly acceptable but “pillbugs” is just stupid.

A long time ago they used to use walnut shells in hula-hoops (crushed), so we just called them peanuts.

Yeah, their real name is doodlebugs. I know people who call them roly polys and even a few freaks who call them pill bugs. But they are all wong.

my lil’un just loves rolly pollies. i like them because they are a fun little bug that you know won’t bite.
