Another indication that my daughter is a chip off the old block…we spent a couple of hours in the emergency room last night. The doctor drained blood out from under the fingernail on her right middle finger. The blood, along with major swelling and bruising on her index and middle fingers, was there because a full-length mirror fell on her at day care. She was most likely trying to climb the mirror, but no one was directly watching her to know for sure.

I told her she was there three years ago in mommy’s tummy, when mommy needed seven stitches in her toe. See what I mean…she’s cursed to be accident-prone. I’m sure last night was the first of many visits to the emergency room for my baby bean.

Like I ever need an excuse to karaoke!

The Houston Roller Derby is hosting a karaoke competition at the Proletariat, December 10th. Guess I will have to find a babysitter and show up to my first derby function since making the cut. Hope all my friends can come out and support HRD, too!

Imagine my delight when Phil described the destination for the ninth pit stop on this season’s Amazing Race…the roof of the Salt Lake City Public Library! Hopefully the contestants were able to take advantage of the resources. Did everyone see the breathtaking views? How jealous am I since my library looks out on a heavily-traveled four-lane road towards a couple of factories?

Librarianship, roller derby, art (or Catazon’s interpretation thereof), family…these topics and others will be considered in Catazonia. Ignore or enjoy…it’s up to you.
